Tammy Meckley’s Office oversees the processing of Form I-134,the "Declaration of Financial Support," which has become a critical tool in the Biden Administration's expansive use of humanitarian parole. Guidelines from the liberal immigration group, Catholic Legal Immigration Network, explained how the prompt processing of I-134s is essential to paroling illegal immigrants into our communities.

“In April 2022, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) announced the creation of a new parole program, Uniting for Ukraine (U4U), which allows Ukrainians displaced by Russia’s war to travel to the United States and be paroled in for a two-year period at a U.S. port of entry. While applicants for this program were initially required to include Form I-134, beginning on January 6, 2023, the USCIS required the submission of Form I-134A, Online Request to be a Supporter and Declaration of Financial Support. On that same date, USCIS introduced a new parole program called Process for Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans (CHNV). Potential supporters for an individual under the U4U or the CHNV programs should file Form I-134A, which can only be accessed via a USCIS online account.”

This form, originally intended for rare, case-by-case situations, has been twisted into a backdoor for flooding our country with normally inadmissible aliens. Under the guise of humanitarian concern, the Biden Administration has implemented programs like the Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan, and Venezuelan(CHNV) parole scheme, which has allowed hundreds of thousands of migrants  who were never vetted to fly directly into U.S. airports.

“Today, the House Committee on Homeland Security revealed documents obtained through a subpoena of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) that identified over 50 airport locations, including our nation’s capital, used by DHS to help process into the country more than 400,000inadmissible aliens through the administration’s unlawful Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan, and Venezuelan (CHNV) mass-parole program. The program was officially launched in January 2023, and the documents obtained by the Committee cover the period from January-August 2023—accounting for roughly 200,000 of these individuals.”

Under Meckley's watch, this process has facilitated the entry of a staggering number of parolees, many of whom would normally have no legal right to be here. The CHNV program alone has processed over 530,000 migrants as of August 2023, with government figures showing 1.6 million more awaiting travel authorizations.

“As of the end of August, 530,000 migrants from these four countries had flown into the U.S. under the policy, known as the CHNV program, government figures show. They were granted permission to live and work in the U.S. legally for two years under an immigration law known as parole, which presidents can use to welcome foreigners on humanitarian or public interest grounds.”
