According to publicly available emails, Neal Swartz was part of the team working on the controversial Disinformation Governance Board in2022. Many Americans viewed the Board as a potential threat to free political speech, particularly given the existing climate of online censorship and alleged collaboration between government agencies and social media platforms. The Orwellian-sounding name of the Board only heightened these fears.

Neal Swartz was sent documents relating to the rollout of the “Disinformation Board” according to emails released pursuant to a FOIA request submitted by Americans for Prosperity:

The short-lived Disinformation Governance Board was as alarming as it sounds. For Swartz to have been involved in the planning of its rollout shows that he is seen by Biden Administration officials as “with the program.”

Neal Swartz liked a post on LinkedIn decrying DHS Secretary Mayorkas' impeachment as 'abuse of solemn constitutional authority'.

In 2023, Neal Swartz won a “Meritorious Rank Award” from President Biden.  This is a clear indication that he’s ‘on the team.’ Further, Secretary Mayorkas made comments praising the award recipients’ “dedication to mission”.
