Anderson's financial disclosure show concerning financial issues.  As a senior executive at the Department of Homeland Security, Ms. Anderson undoubtedly holds a security clearance, and her high levels of debt and unusually high interest rates could be concerning. (Source)

An Advocate for Mass Parole from Ukraine and Afghanistan

At a time when millions of Americans fear radical Islamic terrorism and question our nation’s involvement in Ukraine’s territorial dispute with Russia, Ms. Anderson has worked to grease the skids for Afghans and Ukrainians to be paroled into the United States en masse.

(In the context of immigration, “parole” can best be thought of as a catch-all term meaning “at the subjective will of the bureaucrat overseeing this case.”)

In 2023, Secretary Mayorkas presented Ms. Anderson with a “Silver Service Merit Award” for her work on the “Operation Allies Welcome” and the “Uniting for Ukraine” initiatives.  These programs enable mass numbers of people from Afghanistan and Ukraine to be paroled into the United States.  The Biden Administration has justified the implementation of these mass parole programs on so- called “humanitarian” grounds.

"Ms. Kathryn Anderson: Kathryn played a key leadership role in executing Operation Allies Welcome and standing up Uniting for Ukraine. Ms. Anderson is a policy expert on temporary protected status, who is frequently called on by the Secretary. Kathryn received consistent recognition for her work across the department from USCIS and DHS leadership."

Issues with beneficiaries of “Operation Allies Welcome” are not just theoretical. In early October 2024, 27-year-old Nasir Ahmad Tawhedi of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma was arrested on allegations he planned to commit a terrorist attack on election day. Americans have no way to know how many more similarly situated Afghans were allowed into the country under this program.

Donated to radical left-wing PAC, Indivisible Action, that was explicitly formed to “Resist the Trump agenda”

While Ms. Anderson’s political donation history speaks for itself, one organization deserves greater scrutiny.

In October 2020, Ms. Anderson donated $250 to an organization called “Indivisible Action.” Indivisible Action is the PAC associated with the Indivisible network of groups. However, Indivisible’s advocacy goes beyond electoral politics.

Many organizations attempt to change the makeup of elected bodies, but Indivisible goes further. Explicitly founded to “resist the Trump agenda,” Indivisible engages in more explicit forms of activism.  In an environment where a conservative administration holds the White House, it doesn’t take a genius to see how an Indivisible donor embedded in the bureaucracy could undermine that administration’s policy priorities.

Below we outline Indivisible’s claims that they want to “resist the Trump agenda,” “resist the GOP’s agenda,” that they were “founded in response to Trump’s election” and that “democracy was rigged from the start in favor of the white and wealthy”:

"Action by action, day by day, group by group, Indivisibles are remaking our democracy."
"Brought together by a practical guide to resist the Trump agenda, Indivisible is a movement of thousands of group leaders and more than a million members taking regular, iterative, and increasingly complex actions to resist the GOP's agenda, elect local champions, and fight for progressive policies."
"Why we’re here: Indivisible was founded in response to Trump’s election -but we know that Trump is a symptom of a sick democracy, not its cause. We face two fundamental problems: first, our democracy was rigged from the start in favor of the white and wealthy. Second, in the last few decades, an alliance of white nationalists and the ultra-rich have been actively working to further undermine democracy and cement their hold on power permanently. That’s how we ended up with Trump."
"We have to build a democracy that reflects a broad, multiracial “we the people,” one that works for all of us and is sustained by all of us. Only then will we be able to achieve a progressive vision for our future…"
"…Defeating a multi-decade right-wing takeover of American government ain’t easy. But we’re here to win, and we have a plan…"
"…Together we fight to defeat the rightwing takeover of American government and build an inclusive democracy…"
